A friendly guitar club in the pub. Proper lessons, a welcoming community, and every member improves.
At our heart we're a social club. Come for the music and the people, learn from professional musicians, and when you fancy it, join the band or jump on a studio day. No pressure — just play.
ADULTS ONLY · YOU MUST BE 18+
Music brings us together, but the people are the point. Whatever your level, you'll learn, play, and leave a little better than you came in.
Warm, welcoming and easy-going. You'll make friends as fast as you make progress.
Real teaching from professional musicians — a great balance of theory and playing.
Mixed-level classes where no one's left behind. Whatever your level, every session moves you forward.
Relaxed and social, always with the option of a pint in hand. No stuffy classrooms here.
Our most popular session — an advanced rehearsal where we build a setlist to gig. Once you've found your feet at our other classes, this is where it goes next.
Record your playing and learn the ropes of studio musicianship on dedicated studio days.
We're an adults-only club — you must be 18 or over to join. The club is also built around playing together, so we ask that you can already play all the open chords before you come along.
If you can already play all the open chords and change between them, you're ready to jump straight into our group sessions.
We're not taking complete beginners at the moment. Every session is built around playing together, so you'll need all the open chords under your belt before you join us.
Once you can play and change all the open chords, you'll be ready — and very welcome.
Questions? Email us →Answer three quick questions and we'll point you to the sessions that fit you best. No two players are the same, so treat this as a friendly starting point — not a rule.
Be honest — there's no wrong answer here.
Pick the one that excites you most.
We run classes right across east Kent.
Each class is an hour long. Most times we meet we run at least two back-to-back — come to all of them or just one, it's entirely up to you. The exception is our Thursday lunchtime session at Four Fathoms, Herne Bay, which is a single hour. Bring your guitar and a small practice amp, then filter by your nearest town below.
You're in control — go to as many sessions as your hours allow.
Pick your membership →Pick how many hours you want across each 4-week cycle, then spend them on any sessions you like.
Fees charged at the start of each 4-week cycle and renew automatically unless cancelled. Unused hours don't roll over. Cancel anytime after your first cycle.
"The most fantastic guitar class in town — with the most welcoming members!"
"Have a pint, have a natter, and play with fellow enthusiasts."
Each session is a relaxed, hour-long group class in a pub, led by a professional musician. Because no two players are at the same level, you'll often be working on slightly different things to the person beside you — and that's exactly how it should be. You learn mostly by playing, with the teacher guiding everyone forward together.
Not at all. Our members have jobs and busy lives — nobody expects teenage-level practice hours. Turn up, enjoy it, and you'll still improve at your own pace. Any practice you fit in between sessions is just a bonus.
You'll need to be able to play all the open chords to join, since every session is built around playing together. We're not taking complete beginners at the moment — but do get in touch, as that may change in future.
Membership runs in 4-week cycles. You buy a set number of hours for the cycle and spend them on whichever sessions you like. It renews automatically, you can cancel anytime after your first cycle, and you can top up if you run out. Unused hours don't roll over. Plans start at £45.
Across east Kent: Canterbury, Herne Bay, Wingham, Faversham and Swalecliffe — all in friendly pubs. Your hours work at any location, so you can mix and match to suit your week. The timetable above has days, times and maps.
Never. The band is our most popular session, but it's completely optional — plenty of members come purely to learn and enjoy the social side. Studio days and performing are there if you want them, never requirements.
Your guitar and a small practice amp. Acoustics are very welcome. A music stand is handy but a chair does the job too. And perhaps a little money for a pint.

ADULTS ONLY · 18+ · ALL OPEN CHORDS NEEDED
Come along, plug in, and see what it's all about. Our sessions are for players who can already play all the open chords, so do make sure you're comfortable with those first. Tell us a little about you and we'll be in touch.
Thanks — we've got your details and a confirmation email is on its way to your inbox (do check your spam folder, just in case). Any questions in the meantime, email info@myguitarclub.com.
